Will Film Noir

From Wikipedia:

Film noir is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize moral ambiguity and sexual motivation.

Strobist had an assignment on using hard light (and cookies) to create the “film noir” look and I decided to give it a go. It’s been a while since I’ve gone back to my “roots” on strobist, but I assure you I’m still reading and learning from the master himself.

Strobist info: super easy setup. Snooted SB-800 on stand camera upper left into the face. Second SB-800 shooting through a plant to create the shadows

Post-processing: Adjusted saturation, levels, curves, smoothed skin with gaussian blur, then added a little bit of LucisArt filter, and finally a little bit of noise to create that “timelessness” look and feel.
