Change

Each of these likely deserves its own post but for the sake of keeping short and sweet, I’m going to lump them all into one heading called “Change”.

On Saturday, 8/16/08 my Mom and brother flew into town. They’re here to adjust to the time difference prior to the wedding and run some errands. Fortunately for us they are also helping us with some of the final wedding preparations!

Speaking of which there are only 10 days before wedding! It’s almost surreal that 9 months of planning are all coming to fruition all on one single day. It’s completely insane. I’m not psychologically prepared for the madness! I mean, being married I can handle… but the wedding ceremony, reception, the “singing”?!?! I’m totally freaking out over loose ends and possbily forgetting something last minute!

On the other hand I’m totally looking forward to Bora Bora (honeymoon)! I have spent large sums of money prepping my photography equipment for this once in a lifetime journey to Tahiti and will hopefully take some good shots of our experience there!

In conjunction with the wedding and the 6-pack challenge and overall health and fitness I am trying to break 10’s this week. Basically I’m trying to get my body fat in the 10% range (according to my scale). This will be the culmination of a lot of hard work.

Speaking of hard work, I’m on Week 3 of the “www.iwantsixpackabs.com challenge”. I’m a little behind in Week 3 because the exercises require a cable which I didn’t have until yesterday. I will likely pick up tomorrow when I get back into the gym and try the exercises out!

Speaking of working out, I located a 24 Hour Fitness about 3.5 miles away from work. This means I can work out during lunch which would a) free my evening hours up for other activities and b) keep me consistenly working out throughout the week so I don’t have a chance to get lazy and ditch my workout.

I’ve decided also to take 2 “rest days” throughout the week instead of 1. As hard as I push my body, I don’t think it’s fair to deprive it of rest. I realized that I was doing many more weight training sessions throughout the week without rest. To balance things out, I will do more cardio/HIIT workouts and less resistance workouts. On one of my “rest days” I might just do a cardio workout instead of my regular resistance training.

Speaking of resistance training, I’ve decided to do the “300 Challenge”. I’ll post more on this later but suffice it to say, it’s a Navy Seal/Ironman-like workout that requires a lot of physical strength and stamina. I’ve tested out the actual Challenge and must say that it’s a formidable opponent and worthy of my time and effort!

With the advent of several new pieces of my lighting studio, I’ve decided to take some more pictures of myself at the end of the week. This satisfies multiple goals. On one hand I fulfill my egoism. On the other hand I validate the hard work that I’ve been performing with actual results. Oh and I also get valuable training/practice with studio lighting by actually experimentiing with flash photography.

So there you have it. All the thoughts and events in my life boiled down to about 3 minutes worth of reading. :)
