Redefinition: Excitement
I would like to redefine “excitement”:
Excitement – Anticipation of the unexpected.
I came to this realization after surfing a few weeks straight. I was no longer excited to go surfing and it was obvious why… there was nothing that the water could throw at me (at that point) that I hadn’t already seen. It was almost boring (primarily because it was summer and the waves were tiny). I realized that I was only ever excited when I DIDN’T know what was going to happen next.
