*sigh, first the Cadbury Bunny and now Paddington…

Cadbury Bunny

Bet you didn’t know this but apparently Paddington lays eggs for a little extra income! :)

So I found these eggs in the closet and as I was about to throw them away I had a looney idea to use them with Paddington. The shot started out simple but then became slightly complicated since I only had 1 flash. I put the SB-800 with red gel behind Paddington (you can see the flash between his legs actually) firing it 45 degrees upwards into the wall, thus creating the red background. In order to light the bear and the eggs I used 2 LED flashlights. I held one with my left hand shining it 45 degrees downwards camera left front onto Paddinton. Then I shined the 2nd flashlight with my right hand pretty much camera up 45 degrees down at the eggs. Then with my Phottix N8 remote I clicked with my right hand as well.

Because the LED flashlights were so weak, at ISO1600 I had to leave the shutter open at f/6.3 for 1/3s for proper exposure of Paddington and the eggs. In Photoshop I applied minor touchup for dust bunnies and applied minor LucisArt Whyeth filter 1-40 for the “gritty” look.
