Macbook stuff

I’m going to vent a little.

I knew I was going to spend a lot of time on the computer today. Mostly post-processing pictures and learning PS and LR stuff.

I was only able to do some of that today.

I wound up installing/reinstalling a lot of programs today. For example, I got this nifty little widget for my dock that tells me all sorts of information about the current state of my computer.

In fact, I installed quite a few widgets today, including one of the Earth, one for providing surf updates, one that provides Mac tips, and for screenshots (which I later deleted):

Actually I removed both the Mac tips and the screenshot programs. The Mac tips really didn’t add much value and the screenshot widget did what you could intrinsically do with Mac OS X.

Anyway, the majority of my time was spent today reinstalling Photoshop CS3. I originally had CS4 but the key which I used to register the program would no longer work. I got the key from my friend who purchased the software legitimately via Adobe. However the problem is, you can’t install the software on more than 2 computers. Mine was the 3rd. So it stopped working. Thus I had to revert back to CS3.

On the plus side of things, Lr (Lightroom) is really working out well. It works so well, I don’t foresee having to revert to using Nikon Capture. This is a plus since I’m a minimalist when it comes to programs. I’ve been post-processing a few sets now via Lightroom and really liking the workflow. Below is a screenshot of my Lr setup:

While I have already post-processed the above set of pictures, I haven’t written it up here yet so it will appear here shortly.

Enough of computers. I’m going to bed!
