tumblr Categorization and Tags

Since I’ve had my tumblr blog, I’ve been posting about the things that are important to me on a daily basis without much concern for cohesiveness or sticking to any particular topic. As a result certain themes have surfaced that allow for the logical categorization of this blog.

In my categorization process I have added tags to most posts that appear on the right column of the blog. The larger the tag-word, the more posts there are under that category. I’m pretty excited as this gives my blog a new feature but more imporantly provides clear themes that create a cohesiveness that was not previously available.

I stumbled across this while looking for a way to categorize my posts. While it doesn’t automatically update your tumblr Tags, it saves you one extra service to sign up for and it works just as well. Kudos to Heather Rivers

tumblr Theme Modifications

Over the last week, I’ve been populating the blog with content but also focusing on modifying it to my heart’s content. In the last day and a half alone I’ve signed up for a Flickr account, figured out how to transfer my pBase photos to Flickr, and added a timestamp for my posts.

On my to do list:

1. Fix “posted at” lack of spacing on certain posts.
2. Add Flickr code?

PressRow Theme
I wanted to give props to Rachel (stumblepeach.com) for making the PressRow Theme that I’m using to create my tumblr account. Very clean, very simple, very elegant, very me.

Disqus
In effort to make this blog more functional I wanted to add a comment feature. In the process I ran across Disqus which adds the comment feature to blogs like tumblr. Very cool and this is essentially a test on the functionlity.
